Cultural Voices Summit
A project of Our Turn
From Georgia to the Caribbean, Black women's voices belong in the same room.
The Cultural Voices Summit is a virtual gathering that brings Black women of the diaspora into one space to share creative practice, bold ideas, and community work. Held in 2023, built as an incubator for a diasporic approach to cultural preservation, the summit centered Trinidad and Tobago and organized its conversations around three themes: health and wellbeing, equity, and education.
Our Turn is rooted in Georgia and global by design. The Cultural Voices Summit is where that reach becomes real. It connects the work of Black women in the American South to the writers, artists, scholars, and organizers shaping culture across the Caribbean. For an organization built on the leadership of Black women across the diaspora, this is the diaspora in practice, not theory.
